Bucolia and The Red Lands have opened their doors

Opening of Bucolia and Les Terres Rouges

On 4 April, visitors discovered two new attractions at the ZooParc de Beauval: the Bucolia educational farm and the Red Lands immersive experience. Two complementary experiences, combining local roots with a complete change of scenery.

We are delighted to welcome you to the official opening of our new space, the Bucolia educational farm,” said Rodolphe Delord at the inauguration.

Bucolia: a farm just like in the old days, vibrant and immersive

With Bucolia, Beauval is bringing back to the fore old and sometimes little-known domestic breeds, in a one-hectare setting faithful to the architecture of the Sologne and Berry regions. Here, everything is designed to foster a connection: closeness to the animals, sensory immersion, hands-on discovery.

The experience continues at the Au Canard Toqué restaurant, which showcases local produce, and the themed shop Du Coq à l’Âne.

Raising awareness comes through emotion, through discovery… but also through touch, closeness and smells,” explains Rodolphe Delord.

In the paths, young and old alike rediscover animals that are sometimes forgotten… and quickly grow attached:

They’re very sociable, so it’s nice to be able to touch them.”

Beyond the emotional aspect, Bucolia also educates:

“It helps them understand where milk comes from… not from a bottle in the supermarket,” says one visitor.

The Red Lands: off to Australia

Just a few steps away, the scenery changes completely with The Red Lands, offering an Australian experience.

Visitors can, in particular, see wombats – which can only be seen in France here at Beauval – alongside wallabies, emus and kangaroos roaming close to the public.

These are exceptional animals that you can see for the first time today,” emphasises Rodolphe Delord.

A dual experience to enjoy right now

Combining rural heritage with Australian landscapes, these new additions for 2026 invite visitors to travel through time and space, whilst reinforcing Beauval’s core mission: to raise awareness, educate and inspire wonder.

“They’re not pandas… but they’re just as adorable,” smiles Rodolphe Delord.

And judging by the initial reactions, one thing is certain: the venture has been a success.
