All Saints’ Day at Beauval: the last chance to see the panda twins before they leave

Departure of the Huanlili Yuandudu panda twins

They were born in Beauval, and you’ve watched them grow up… By the end of the year, Yuandudu and Huanlili will be returning to China. The All Saints’ Day holidays will therefore be the last school holidays when you can come and see them before they leave and spend a few more moments with them.

From their birth to today: five years of emotion

On 2 August 2021, just a few minutes apart, Huan Huan gave birth to two tiny giant pandas. This twin birth sparked immense excitement amongst the teams at Beauval and everyone who had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Huan Huan and Yuan Zi’s cubs. Since then, Yuandudu and Huanlili have grown up so much… and taken a special place in the memories of many visitors.

From their birth to their first steps, from their tumbles to their little squabbles, not to mention their birthdays and their first moments of independence, you’ve watched them grow, either in person or through the updates shared by our teams. A bond forged over the years, which makes their imminent departure all the more poignant.

The panda twins are preparing for their big journey

As their departure for China draws near, Yuandudu and Huanlili are continuing their medical training with their keepers to gently prepare for this big journey. Watch the video to see these moments of trust, filled with emotion for the teams who have watched them from birth through to adulthood, and who are now preparing to say goodbye.

Why are the twins heading to China?

As part of the cooperation with China on giant panda conservation, Yuandudu and Huanlili are set to follow in the footsteps of their older brother Yuan Meng, who left in July 2023, and their parents Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, who returned to China in November 2025, to the country of origin of their species. Their departure, scheduled for later this year, will mark a new chapter in their story.

Until then, the twins are still at Beauval. The All Saints’ Day holidays are a wonderful opportunity to come and see them at Les Hauteurs de Chine, to take the time to watch them and to take home a new memory of this encounter.

The story of the giant pandas at Beauval will then continue with the imminent arrival of a new male and a new female. In the meantime, whether you’ve known Yuandudu and Huanlili since they were born or haven’t yet had the chance to see them, make the most of these final holidays before their departure to pay them a visit!
