Registration is now open for L’Envolée de Beauval, the charity run on 5 October!
Running for biodiversity along the paths* of the world’s fourth most beautiful zoo? It’s now possible! ZooParc de Beauval, in partnership with CAM Vallée du Cher-Controis, is organising its first official race on Sunday 5 October in aid of the Beauval Nature charity. Whether you’re a keen athlete, a weekend runner… or a passionate nature lover, you’re invited to put on your best – or most comfortable – trainers and explore the park at your own pace, choosing from four different routes.
Four different trails, for all ages and all abilities, in a unique setting
L’Envolée de Beauval features four different routes, suitable for all ages and fitness levels, with routes passing by the majestic lions, the vast African savannah and even the penguins! Runners will also be able to explore the roads around the zoo, passing in particular by the Beauval Nature Care Centre, for an immersive, unique and unforgettable sporting experience! A few more technical sections and a moderate elevation gain will add a challenge for the more daring!
Here are the four routes on offer, starting from €6:
6 km – €15 (open to those born in 2010 or earlier)FULLY BOOKED12 km – €20 (open to those born in 2010 or earlier)FULLY BOOKED- 900 m – €6 (open to children born between 2015 and 2019)

Running to protect biodiversity makes it even more motivating!
All proceeds will be donated to the Beauval Nature charity, amounting to a minimum of €5 per race number (estimate based on 1,000 race numbers sold). The money raised will help support the conservation and research programmes run by the organisation, which was founded over 15 years ago. These include HELP Congo, an organisation that protects chimpanzees and the extraordinary wildlife of Conkouati-Douli National Park, and the Beauval Nature Care Centre, which takes in and cares for more than 2,000 distressed local wildlife animals every year.
A race as part of an eco-responsible initiative
The winners in each category will receive charitable prizes such as sponsorships of individual animals or groups of animals at the ZooParc de Beauval, with all proceeds going to the Beauval Nature charity. The race is part of an eco-friendly initiative. No promotional items will be given to runners, and the medals awarded will be made from wood sourced from sustainably managed French forests. To minimise waste, runners will be fitted with a reusable timing chip and asked to bring their own cup to use at the refreshment station.
Fancy standing out from the crowd? Come and run in fancy dress!
A best fancy dress competition will be held on the theme of ‘Nature and Animals’. Bring out your finest feathers, scales or whiskers… and let your imagination run wild! Entertainment is planned throughout the day. Music, mascots, surprises… It’s set to be a festive and friendly atmosphere!
But be warned, places are limited, so book your race number now.
