Join Sterenn, an animal keeper in the Pandas and Koalas section, to watch our two young wombats being weighed at Les Terres Rouges. This is a vital part of their medical monitoring, made possible through training, which allows us to check their growth whilst gradually getting them used to being handled.
As the video unfolds, discover the amazing adaptations of this Australian species: burrows that can reach up to 20 metres in length and a hindquarters reinforced by a thick plate of cartilage, capable of effectively protecting the wombat when it takes refuge underground.
