Behind the scenes of veterinary care at Beauval: from giraffes to scorpions

How do you monitor a giraffe under anaesthesia? How can you tell if a female scorpion is pregnant? Behind these questions lies the day-to-day work of the veterinary teams at ZooParc de Beauval. 

Every year, several thousand animals receive medical care tailored to their specific needs. This diversity of species requires a wide range of skills, constant scientific monitoring and a strong ability to adapt. 

In this new immersive feature, discover the journey of Jenna, a resident vet specialising in zoological medicine, and the tasks that make up her daily routine: anaesthetising a giraffe for hoof trimming, medical imaging on a scorpion, developing preventive medicine programmes for invertebrates… 

Beyond the care provided to the animals, this video also highlights Beauval’s role in training veterinarians, sharing expertise and continuously improving knowledge in the service of animal welfare.
